Kekeno - New Zealand fur seal - Pelsrob #04

New Zealand fur seal or Kekeno, which is Maori language, are the most common seals around the coast of the South Island of New Zealand. In Australia their common name is Southern Fur Seal.
Unlike true seals they have visible ears and do not have a blubber layer so they have fur for warmth.
Time after time they were hunted for their fur. Protection caused their number to increase just in time. Now you can see them on a lot of locations on the Southern Island.
