The Comma is a species of butterfly that ranges across Europe and temperate Asia to Japan and south to Morocco. This species gets its name from the only white marking on its underside, which resembles a comma. The remarkable wing shape is an excellent camouflage, giving the appearance of a withered leaf when the wings are closed.
