Visarend vangt prooi - Osprey & catch - pandion haliaetus

he osprey is one of the most widespread birds in the world. Ospreys have vision that is well adapted to detecting underwater objects from the air. De visarend komt bijna overal ter wereld voor en eet, zoals de naam al zegt, vrijwel alleen vis.
Op zoek naar prooi zweeft de visarend boven het wateroppervlak. Wanneer de visarend een prooi ziet duikt ie met zijn kop naar beneden razendsnel omlaag en gooit op het laatste moment gooit zijn poten naar voren om de vis te pakken. Een visarend kan wel 25 jaar oud worden.
