Rendier - Reindeer rut in Rondane

Reindeer are wanderers, moving with the seasons from summer meadows to winter meadows and back again.
In the Autumn both males and females put on antlers. Each year the antlers grow all over again. In early spring the reindeer sheds its old antlers. Step by step the animal starts working on a new pair which should be ready by September.
The mating season follows in October.
